Hall Joins the Circus, Learns to Juggle
Shreveport, La- I'm pretty sure my family had a sneaking suspicion that I would one day sneak off and join the circus. Well, it took a long time coming but it has finally happenend. And quite unexpectedly I might add. I recently signed on as a production secretary on a movie called "Feast II: Sloppy Seconds" and "Feast III: The Happy Finish." Due to contractual obligations somewhere between here and Los Angeles I'm pretty sure I can't give away any of the plot to this movie but I will tell you as much as I can. The other day I drove to the airport and picked up a four foot tall Mexican wrestler named Juan, who has one of the leading roles in the film. And, he is not the only "little person" in the film.
That pretty much says it all.
On a more serious note, the screen legend Clu Gulager is also in this film and his son John Gulager is directing it. Now, the name Clu Gulager may not seem important to you but I should point out a couple of things.
1. My dad watched Clu Gulager act when my dad was a young man...and my dad is sixty seven years old.
2. Clu onced acted in a film with...this is hard to believe...Ronald Reagan.
3. AND, his first cousin is none other than Will Rogers.
It's been fun getting to know Clu over the past couple of weeks. The other day as he was sitting on set he related how when he was in westerns int he 1960s, the food people would just whip up a pot of stew and everyone, cast and crew alike would divy up a pot of stew for dinner. With rolls. Things are a little different these days.
All in all, these two films are/and will be a circus. From Mexican wrestling midgets to topless biker chicks on set, to screen legends like Clu Gulager, its been, to say the least interesting.
Who knows what tomorrow will bring. In the meantime, I have to break down the big top because its time to go home.
That's the story of my life...

you lead a most fascinating life.
i'm glad i get to read about it.
I love keeping up with you and your experiences. Like your Dad, I loved Clu Gulager as a young girl!
I'm envious of your adventures! Your life sounds closer to the plot of a Carl Hiaasen book than anyone I've ever "met." I enjoy your blog. . .
