(Editor's note: unlike the previous five Words of the Day, this word is an actual word that I am not altering to be funny and mean something else.)

1. fipple (noun)- a wooden plug forming a flue pipe (as the mouthpiece of a recorder).

In a sentence: Wow! Look at that fipple!!

Hi Winston,

Thanks for leaving a comment! I still read your blog and I've definitely enjoyed the "word of the day" feature. I think "fipple" would be great as an ASW. Do you mind if I post it as one? I'll gladly give credit where it's due... partly because it's the right thing to do but also because I think it's a cool word that I'm glad you posted. It's very unlikely I would have come across it on my own and I always like learning a new word.

Thanks!
