A Serious Note from Winston
San Angelo, TX - I was deeply saddened today to discover some anonymous coward had left a comment below my pictures from Las Vegas claiming that it is was "sad" that I "was once a Christian." I can't say for sure who left these posts, although I have my suspicions.
Here's my final word on this. When I was sixteen, I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord - my Savior - with the understanding that the Christian journey is a journey, hence the reason they call it a "walk" with the Lord. At times, we are closer and yet at times we stray. The closest I have ever been with the Lord was at Wind River Ranch in Estes Park, Colorado. I felt there that I could reach out and touch his face. In my darkest moments, I have searched earnestly for God, not knowing even where to start.
That being said, I am washed in the blood and nothing and no one, and no innane comment on my blog, will ever change the fact that I am a believer- that I am saved by grace. As for the photos, they were just a couple of silly photos that we got a big laugh out of taking. Anyone who presumes to judge my whole life by a couple of pictures from my vacation is a hypocrite, for which the hottest fires of hell are reserved.
The Bible says "Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.
Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.”
So whoever you are, why don't you take the plank out of your own eye first. If you mind your own plank, and I mind mine, then we both will be fulfilling our call as followers of the Christ.
That's the story of my life...
